I left three years ago and even then things were less than rosy. I stopped by this page to see how the company is doing amid the pandemic and it looks to me that things have only worsened - significantly! I hate to see it, since so many of my former coworkers still have to suffer through the c-ap Gulfstream keeps pulling over and over again...

Morale at gulfstream? Lower than whale c-ap floating at the bottom of the ocean
I’m going to type this slow for you this time.
- ...am...not...management!
You really should just go man. I know I’ve been giving you c-ap but if you really feel that way it really is time to move on. I did. No hard feelings when I left several weeks ago. Just business. Yes poor upper level management played into my decision ( my direct manager was awesome and hated the incompetence above more than me ) but at the end of the day, I got a better gig, 30% pay bump, better schools for my kids, profit sharing, 100% of my benefits paid for, an extra week of vacation and a fresh start. I didn’t see GAC getting any better anytime soon and had a better option on the table, easy decision. Look for your easy decision. Might not come today, but you’ll find it.
I just hate unions and have friends that still work at GAC that do too. You’re in the south and I think your chances of getting a Union in are slim to none. Look at how the union whined and lied and said they gave up because they were threatened in Charleston...that was their lie to save face because they were not wanted. Now Boeing is canning tons of Union employees in WA and shifting more to Charleston.
Keep dreaming that the south won’t awaken to the scam when you don’t even try to avoid unionization. You can only kick us while we are down so many times before we realize you are weak and can be defeated like blowing on a feather. Right to work is also right to not work and Gulfstream unionization will send shock waves through the country when we become more ruthless in our desire to organize than ever seen before. Southerners are fighters who are looking for a battle and this is one for our livelihood.
Again...not management...never was...never will be.
Are you really happy working at GAC? You seem miserable and out for vengeance. Probably not healthy. Might be time to move on? You could head up the Seattle area and join a Union there instead of wasting so much effort to get one here. The Union has been great there, really showing management who’s boss. They’re only getting rid of 19,000 employees.

Cr@p in one hand and wish in the other, see which one fills up faster. Of course you would like for us to cut and run but the reality is that we have you by the b@lls if we want to. No workers, no planes out the door and no fat bonuses and unjustified compensation for d—beat leadership. We will rise up because we have the leverage as long as we acknowledge the con being committed against us. Any loser can do your pathetic job but you could never do our jobs. We must stop this fraud before the GD stooges sink their teeth in here. Time is of the essence!
Boy GAC seems awful. Looks like it might be time for you to find a new job. You’re obviously worth a lot more than the compensation you receive. Just ask you.
A guy like you who’s worth so much more than his compensation should have NO problems finding a job that pays and treats him fairly.
Thoughts and prayers. I’m so sorry this is happening to you.
Looks like someone in the GAC propaganda machine is trying to get this thread nuked by bringing up politics. I hope the mods don’t fall for it.
As for the sorry anti-union argument, you get all teary eyed by working folks throwing a wrench in the machine but when leadership uses dirty tricks you smile and scream “YES SIT, MAY I HAVE ANOTHER!” Like I’ve said before don’t you dare look back at all we have lost in a short period of time.
Pension - GONE

Morale in St. Louis is at rock bottom. We are all waiting for the next lay-off.
Nothing would make me happier than to get caught up in the next round.... been telling them for years "this place is going down hill fast" and it's a crying shame, cause I know their are some good people out there, but all the "baaaa sheep" in charge are running it into the ground....
Gulfstream single handedly ruined aviation maintenance.
We have popsicles in our break room.
Employee morale is not a tracked metric.
The situation won't improve until every engineer/manager from the G500/G600 t–d are removed.
At least you admit that Gulfstream mismanagement is in crisis. Don’t you think that if I had a financial interest in Gulfstream workers standing up for themselves against oppressive management that I would be pushing a specific union? That’s not the case because I only care about us ending the abuse inflicted by terrible leadership, HR, and marketing. As for me not working there, I promise that I will wear my Gulfstream issued mask when recruiting my coworkers to unionize. I will even wear it while working on the upgraded G650 project that is pointless.
I see the non GAC employee union thugs are here trying to not let a crisis go to waste? What’s your cut of the dues?
I see the GAC stooges don’t like this thread. Too much truth being spoken. Like the true rats they are they know that name dropping will get the thread nuked so here they are gaming the system like always.
The only thing to stop these thugs is a union for the people, by the people, and of the people.
According to friends and old colleagues, most people in many departments are p-ss-d off. The leader leader thing that Colin Miller wanted to do is over. I am personally glad I got laid-off. I thought GAC was comfortable in a way, but there are many better companies out there. Being an engineer in Savannah is definitely a trap. Pretty sure GAC would have lost more people in a city with heavy engineering jobs.
Managers are now just lunchroom monitors. Making sure everyone is behaving. Directors run the show. Even if it is to the ground.
I would rather be mauled by a rabid dog and left for dead than be under the employ of Gulfstream Aerospace.
It’s terrible. They turned it into every pathetic company in the country by bringing in the least innovative tools they could find to over compensate. Savannah is trash and most only put up with it because the job used to be good. No good reason to stay at this point so you can expect real talent to leave and more tools to replace them. Only going to get worse.
The best thing to come of it is there’s a new type of camaraderie similar to boot camp. Everyone dislikes the same guy but nobody’s allowed to talk about it. It’s just business now. The arrangement is that I come to work and they give me money. As soon as one of the two of us stops, the other will too.
Employee morale is as high as the mildew in a NYC subway station toilet, which is ironically quite low.
It was kind of bad until they introduced the G700 coloring competition. Now, the sky is the limit. There’s also rumors that we might be getting popsicles!!!!!!
It is way down! I would say more people looking to get out than get in these days, even with the shot economy.
Peachy.
