WFH with access to SPI

Would like to know if any non-management people are working from home that have access to any kind of SPI. My office is refusing the WFH , stating the Legal department is just flat out saying no due to the type of information we have access to, even though our first line managers see the same info while working from home. I can’t imagine that with so many non-management at home right now that none of them have work that involves needing that kind of access.

Management is amazed how little the wfh people are doing and I heard based on the monitoring they are doing there is going to be another surplus.

Over reacting? You must be working from home...

If your group was not allowed to have cell phones out at your desk you might be a part of this group. No doubt that some groups were over reacting but that might be a pretty good baseline. Group that worked next to mine had to use their phones away from their area. In fact their area was taped off and you had to put your phone away if you crossed that line.

Company pushed out a new tool last week to identify unprotected/unencrypted SPI on corporate computers. Supposed to run it and make sure we are in compliance with policy.

Can't take payments or info like SSN and Tax ID. But definitely have access to info that was considers SPI while in the office, like account numbers.

Wonder if they’ll consider the work from home people “less essential” when deciding on who stays and who goes in these surpluses. The people stuck in the office right now are really stressed and being treated like lower class citizens, while the WFH people are loving it.

SPI is not permitted for any WFH employees that were not able to access such info at home pre COVID. Mgrs have been able to access at home as part of their roles. WFH reps are not accessing SPI they are trns the calls to an in center group or directing online self service.
