Well at least Comcast is laying off from NBC Universal not the part of the company that is thriving(broadband). AT&T does the opposite. The keep cutting from telecom side because id–t Stankey thinks HBO Max and Time Warner will save his bacon, all while internet and wireless are booming. How many times can this dude be wrong before he is fired?
I've said it all along , events like the pandemic are perfect cover to reduce headcount massively. Because everyone is affected so no one company is likely to get bad press.
Just wait. I bet ATT and other big corporatations will announce the bulk of their layoffs in a tight time window to buffer any media coverage.
There's gonna be lots of unemployed white collar folks come October.
Every large company in the world is looking at reducing headcount. 100,000 in the US airline industry alone. Not to mention all the small businesses that don't make it.
Internet business is doing ok though go figure.
