Thread regarding Gulfstream Aerospace layoffs

“You are not authorized to request weekly payments.”

I know some other people have been getting this error whenever they try to request weekly payments. I was hoping anyone else had been able to get it resolved and share their wisdom. For anyone unfamiliar the full error is: “You are not authorized to request weekly payments. If you are a claimant trainee, you cannot request your weekly payment using this application. If your employer filed a claim on your behalf, your employer is requesting your payment(s) each week.” This is despite receiving a letter stating that my benefits are allowed.

I got the same message. I reapply after my bye date and continue to claim payments weekly like 3 times and then last week say that error message. My file was as individual and I was in PEUC. What I can think is that they did not got my new UI claim. Ingot a message that they proceed but nothing also I received a letter which doesn’t says approval or denial just informing the epic monetary redetermination. Someone happening something like this?

the GA unemployment only counts the severance as one week of payout, not 16
you can apply for all the weeks since the layoff, the only one that I did not qualify for was the week after the 05/15 termination

It seems like my final severance pay week has ended. I started a new UI claim and was able to complete it and claim last week. If you have doubts on when your pay ends check your paystub. 🤞

You need to apply for the weeks you are eligible. Make sure you use a Saturday date when applying. You will not get a check if you do not request one for an eligible week. I finally did that and got 5 direct deposits in a day.

Yes, I filed a separate claim, and I got a letter stating that my benefits were approved

Did you file a new, separate UI claim after the initial two weeks that GAC filed for you? There was an email from GAC on 5/29. Here's one line: We understand some people have been informed that Gulfstream must continue to file the weekly claims on your behalf. However, because Gulfstream provides severance, the DOL process requires the employee(s) to file their own regular UI individual claim to report their severance package.
