I've been seeing more and more the rumors that the role of ARSM is going away.
The latest version of it was that RSM are getting reduced in numbers and would be responsible for their own store (level 2 or above) and a level 1 store plus at least one Authorized Retailer.
ASM would be more in charge of day to day operations and both ASM and RSM would report directly to their DOS.
Anyone else hear anything about this?
They tried to remove ARSM's once and have some stores report directly to AVP. Huge failure, simple things that needed simple approvals never got done. I could see them giving each ARSM 20-25 locations, cutting ARSM support to AR, and eliminating DOS. A Lot of markets don't have a DOS as is.
DOS makes the most sense to remove considering they are a redundant position up against the VPGM. They have 4-5 direct reports and don’t impact the business at all. It makes 1000 times more sense to have ARSMs rolling directly to the VPGMs.
Haven’t heard this. This model would be a huge failure, IMO.
ARSMs have a huge impact on store production. Most RSMs will work as little as their ARSMs allows them to. Currently the DOS-level barely works (4 direct reports each?), and most have very little impact on store performance / output. Having them be directly over 20+ stores each would simply result in less production from the retail stores, which in the long term hurts everyone in the company, since retail performance drives a big portion of our recurring revenue.
It would make much more sense to remove the DOS level, and have the ARSMs report straight to the VPGM. That would cause a small impact, but nothing like removing the ARSM level.
BTW- are you hearing ARSMi will also be impacted?
