Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Would you go back to Hertz/DTag

Since it seems some locations are picking up so posting positions and rehiring people back that applied, Would you go back or take a new job that you just got hired for? Im confused on this one because you dont know how a new job will be but you dont know if Hertz will turn around and get better. Everything is up in the air right now. The big thing is the seniority, if you turn down a job now and hertz gets better then you apply later, your stuck working nights because everyone will be ahead of you that went back to work now.

I do believe if you are hired back within a 2 yr period you get your seniority back.

But what happens if Hertz is taken over by another company by the end of the year, could be really good or bad to go back now?

Take a new job. You will be surprised how much better other companies treat their employees. I worked at Hertz for 14 years and got comfortable and once I finally left and found a new job I realized it was a blessing because I'm so much happier with a new company. More pay and better treatment.

If you have another job take it!!! It is scary starting a new role with a lot of unknowns. But putting yourself in uncomfortable situations means you are learning and growing as a person. The only thing attracting you back to Hertz is that is in your comfort zone. You know what your getting into and it is human nature to go towards your comfort zone. Hertz may turn around financially but the culture will not change. And for most that is the biggest issue is how the leader treat the employees. Embrace the new opportunity and don't look back. One thing I do give Hertz is the training they provide you will see that what you have leaerned at Hertz most people have not had and you will shine in your new role
