We found out today that Allstate senior leadership will be accessing the best performing employees from
Both Esurance & Allstate for the positions that will be available. Don’t be so quick to say Esurance will be 1st to cut.... Look who the new claims officers is..... Esurance process is much faster than Allstate & there’s a reason why there’s a new claims officer... Good luck....

I gave my notice last week after 10 years with Esurance. Gave them 1 week. Friday was my last day. Feel like a great weight has been lifted. Wondering if I will get paid for whay outstanding PTO I have in my next pay, separately or if I will have to hound HR to get it.

I left before the Dec-19 announcement. But the handwriting was on the wall in terms of how poorly things were going. Many colleagues were leaving en masse. For those who remained—I feel for. Terrible management & destroyed vision.
Esurance employee told I would be fired on June 22, 2020.
Formally axed on July 7, 2020.
Allstate is doubling down on its agency sales model. It cannot compete with GEICO/Progressive.
Plenty of cash.
Purchased National General.
Tom Wilson enjoys managing funds of money and only deals with car insurance because that is his funding source.
Allstate, the dinosaur, lumbers around cutting head count to preserve stock price. It cannot and will not compete in the direct sales market. Will it be able to grow the agency sales segment?
And you found out how?
I have worked for both companies and witnessed it first hand.
You guys are id–ts. I’m employed by Allstate, I’ve been an “exceeding expectations” employee for years, never less than an exceptional rating on a performance review. I am being laid off 60 days from July 7th. My performance did not matter one bit to Allstate, it has absolutely nothing to do with me being laid off.
To have the nerve to ask me to train other employees to do my job since they have no idea who is going to do it, no plan in place, for sixty days before I can get a severance, that’s a joke. I hope Allstate continues to get hammered by Geico and Progressive.
Esurance & Allstate are on the same pay bands.
Esurance pays more for the same position. Cost effective to let them go ove Allstate people.
At least you were told something. We assumed that but nobody said anything.
I have direct experience with the quality of claims adjusters and the training or lack there of. The follow up to the training is non existent as well. They don't put in any time to properly understand liability or how limits work, it's all about trying to put out the biggest fires first.
The other departments are good. I don't know if Allstate gives any monthly performance bonuses to the peons, but Esurance used to... in sales, subro, etc. I'm sure Allstate employees are thrilled if they reach the standard 3% raise each year. They gutted the pensions, it used to be good, and claim it will replace the bonuses that Esurance employees got on a yearly basis based on performance (above select department monthly bonus/contests). I don't think so.
Much like when Allstate bought Esurance and Esurance's health benefits were the same as Allstate, premium costs skyrocketed and coverage dropped.
I'm a long-term Allstate employee and have held many positions to include leadership. It is sad how the leadership doesn't accurately assess performance which will now impact employee jobs. Promotions and ratings given in fear of losing employees who end up leaving anyway. It is sad to see what RCL's and RFD's will do to intimidate and target employees to save themselves.
The company is making billions and the still are cutting. Tom Wilson makes 19 million a year. Glen Shapiro 6 million. they should take a cut to save current employees. Nope this is America. Greed and what’s wrong with American style capitalism in a nutshell right here.
Continue to work hard and your name will not be included for layoffs. This is a COMMON communication tactic so there’s no dip in productivity while dangling the carrot of employment. Please know names, departments etc. have been decided it’s just a matter of timing, all while avoiding bad PR.
Our dept was told the same! So if your an Esurance or Allstate employee who can’t meet current your job metrics, you have a good chance of getting cut!
Esurance training for claims adjusters s— and this the quality of most adjusters. It’s a great ploy for Allstate to max the production of current employees with the threat of layoffs. Esurance employees in other positions though, watch out, they are smart, creative and can change direction on a dime due to working for a small company. Allstate is big, slow and takes forever to make changes.
I heard the same thing.
