Seems like a hiring freeze, while Harper, Hendricks, Hawkins, Riggs & Patel are at home and radio silent. have any of them been inside a store since March? I doubt it.

Toys r Us is the mirror image of Belk, only difference is the merchandise. Read what happened to toys r us and it’s executive team, the same thing is going on at Belk, I would bet my life savings on it.
one belk is not temporary. belk is telling employees "if you dont like it quit", no company that cares about their employees would say such a thing, they also "re write" job duties on a whim, take away benefits, don't give cost of living raises, and are not transparent with employees. whenever an executive team goes radio silent, they only thing to do is find the door out of that company.
Most higher performing stores would probably have been visited this Spring, but no retailers experienced a typical spring with COVID19 shut down. All missed most heightened opportunity of Easter, spring break vacation sales and Mother’s Day; not to mention in between big promos with pre sale, (friends and family, charity day, customer appreciation). Currenty, no store needs a high level visit. We obviously are not operating at full capacity, (employees and consumer traffic). Hopefully wherever they are, they are working strategically crunching #’s so we can bring back more of our associates. The One Belk is rough at best and hopefully temporary!
I hear that some part time positions have gone to full time again.
They haven been inside a belk store in months, totally unaware and uninterested with employees, the company, and morale. They just want that million dollar bonus when the company goes belly
