Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

You can’t downsize your way to prosperity

Saw this on a finance site talking about GE.

“ Admittedly, scaling down is a reasonable response to the aviation-sector crisis. However, even a famous company like General Electric can’t downsize its way to prosperity. GE shareholders will want to see, above all else, signs of life as measured in terms of revenues.”

This immediately made me think of DXC. I am so glad I was able to leave on my own terms. Wishing all who remain the best of luck.

Lack of respect is clear here. No raises ever. They lowball and cut your pay coming in and then tell everyone that they s— come annual review time so they can say you aren't getting even a cost of living raise. Management the worst to be found. Destroying company morale to save a buck.

The biggest problem with DXC management is that the only way they see to increase profits is to cut staff. Which of course means to more losses, as you have fewer staff doing billable work. The big problem is that DXC pitches itself to be cheap, so doesn't make the necessary margin on each billable employee. I joined DXC from a major competitor, and took a good pay rise to do so. However, the day rate that DXC charges my client is barely 50% of what my old employer was charging for me. I may not be the CEO of global corporation, but even I can work out that by selling too cheap, you won't make margins, and your company will shrink. New Mikey needs to stop buying business by being the cheapest ITO / Consultancy on the block, and start selling business at sustainable rates. If he does that, he can stop the redundancies (too late for me), and start growing the business.

We have a useless sales team, and load of tick managers.

Mike Salvino has been working on strategy for 9 months when are we going to see some sales action, we can't keep talking, we need so progress.

When you speak to the customers ask them what they want to buy from us if we are good. Go full out no messing.
