Admitting that I really have no idea.... can someone explain why managers have to sign NDA’s before restructuring details are shared? Does this absolutely mean layoff’s or what might other reasons could a NDA bee needed. Thanks.

I'm sure lots of people are trying to get details from their managers.
"I signed an NDA" is one way to stop the questions.
All kinds of things at Dell can require an NDA
Changing contractor agencies
Changing a key vendor
Opening or ending a corporate entity
Shifting acquisition people around corporate entities
Ending a building lease and making people remote.
Changing a supplier in multiple regions
Buying or leading an all new building
Standing up a company number and creating a new org
Complex account planning that may or may not change territory rules
Overhauling more than a section or two of quota roll process
Any layoff plan that affects even one person in a region with generous leave policy
What doesn't lead to an NDA is probably a shorter list!
Am I the only one struggling to believe that all of these managers are just willingly offering up to their direct reports that they signed an NDA because of upcoming restructuring? Sounds like fake news to me
Since Dell is a publicly traded company, any inside information that leaks can have a dramatic effect on the stock price, and a LOT of money can be lost (or made). Of particular concern is the case where stockholder confidence decreases, having a deleterious effect on the overall stock price, and the net worth of both company and shareholders. Managers of publicly traded companies may be 100% prohibited from sharing any information at all, prior to it becoming public, because nobody wants to spook the horses and have a stampede that sells off. That's why an NDA is so critical.
I don't believe this necessarily means layoffs. Any sort of restructuring wouldn't be something you'd want leaked.
Yes. My manager confirmed he signed NDA last week.
My understanding is NDA=Yes in Northeast
Has it been confirmed that they actually do have to sign NDAs?
