Well said thinkblue. Some people are so over their heads, they think the whole world is being unjust to them. Rather than looking outside to find faults, look within to find own strengths and weaknesses, and use it to for your own advantage.

To F— off. I know personnally 3 yes and there many more. What can I say? There are not that many French people working in the US compared to Americans.
Had French people been working in Little Rock, it would have been the same thing, but guess what? Who works in Little Rock? People from there mostly, not French people.
In places in the US, some entire facilities are being shut down due to a 70% decrease in activity. That occured in the US which hit the hardest and translates in huge cuts in the lower 48. It is simple economics, had the well costs for shale been profitable at $8/bbl, that would have been different.
Now if there are a few French people in your location that didn't get laid off, maybe they had other skills that could be used somewhere else, maybe they knew someone, maybe they were lucky, or maybe they were just better.
You know the company does not hire internationals for commodity jobs, like truck drivers and operators. They hire locals and if those grow then they get transferred. Some started as cement operator and made it to VP sales. Not many but some did, and they certainly did not lash out condamnetion like that on a website.
As far as layoffs in France and other European countries, yes those take longer, because the people of those countries voted for a system that protect them with the disadvantages it carries. For instance in France people are furloughed but with full pay. SLB does not pay, people do not work and the state picks up the salary tab...Plus and minus in that approach. There is an election in November, you can cast your vote to voice your discontent.
Long story short you can argue all you want against any nationality, but the truth is: there is no favoritism. Are there mistakes made? Yes. Has there ever been a manager making discriminatory decision? Yes. SLB has been pushing women forward for years so there is some bias, but in the end the greater vast majority of the jobs are still there for men. Wake up dude!
My guess is that it has something to do with French laws about job separation. I think they have to give several months notice before termination. But, this is just a guess.
Discrimination? Disparate treatment of a minority group? Go back to high school and learn what you're talking about. You cant discriminate against "anyone who is not French" because that is not a protected class.
People who are on mobile package are both expensive to keep and expensive to layoff considering their repatriation cost.
People who are on mobile package are usually well connected.
Majority of cases locals are first to go
It is more who has a job, which position is eliminated, and which division absorbs which one. In that effect wrong place, wrong time enacts
French folks are hardworking and intelligent compared to some folks here. Truth hurts!
Three laid off? Wow shut the f— up. 450 people in Little Rock lost their jobs. Yep you are right no discrimination there at all.
This is false. I know personnally 3 that were laid off the same week in the Houston area.
Schlumberger is not perfect, but Schlumberger does not protect any nationality for layoffs. Internationally, locals are always protected, IMs are the first one to go. As far as in NAM, many times locals for equivalent position are slightly better paid. There are mistakes such as the most competent person is not always kept. It is more who has a job, which position is eliminated, and which division absorbs which one. In that effect worng place, wrong time enacts. There is no automatic system to compare resources in terms of performance. That depends on the person implementing its new team, if there, as you can imagine it is a very time consuming exercise and in a fluid situation like the one we are in, it does not always occur.
A petition? Hahahahahaha
