Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Consequences of outsourcing

Outsourcing has a number of unintended consequences, effects on brand loyalty and satisfaction — both for a company's employees and its customers. Outsourcing can also lead to disruptions in the labor force and even cause entire communities to become deserted. Finally, the unintended consequences of outsourcing can spread to the countries where the work is being sent. Tom Wilson, we will speak with our pocket. Tom Wilson and Board members keep yours millions but think of the consequences of how many lives will be impacted.

I wish they didn’t say employees could apply for internal jobs if they are fired. It’s so sad they are laying off and only to make it worse they want laid off employees to “fight” for the the few open positions remaining that only one person can fill....Plus anyone catch they didn’t ask for biometric numbers on wellness surcharge? They don’t want them because they don’t need them (employees being laid off). Take care of yourselves people it’s going to be a tragic experience for a lot of people getting laid off during a time when jobs are hard to find. I’ve lost my appetite, stress is so high, and not sleeping. This is my home I could lose...I don’t know how leadership can feel ok about this during a pandemic.

What is so challenging is these are employees, people, families, real lives being impacted. A company ran well should never have to cut “thousands of jobs”. It’s sad that during a pandemic they make this announcement to be transparent but do t just say who’s being let go. They already know - they already made decisions - it’s terrible to tell employees jobs will be cut but ...wait...Keep showing up to to work and wait....We are in a pandemic...tour Lodi g your job....but wait.....who treats employees like numbers and not people? I can’t imagine anyone is sleeping well and how terrified staff feels. It’s so sad.

After 9/11 many financial business call centers closed and laid off jobs only to outsource the same jobs cheaper in another country. The same is occurring here. Expect to be “guided” to stay on staff while layoffs are looming so ALL can use staff to hold up the changes until integration of Esurance is finished. Once it is finished expect call centers to close. When outsourcing they can pay pennies to the dollar for the same job American employees do from out of the country and outsourcing will occur. Managers, Supervisors, duplicated jobs, and long term employees will be laid off, they can hire new employees cheaper right now both for the USA staff remaining and replacement staff filled out of the country. ALL announced it is laying off - it’s not keeping higher paid employees and letting the lower paid staff go - Esurance is no more. If your call center real estate is duplicated they will close down sites. Most Esurance employees if not all can expect to be let go - ALL will be wasting money training Esurance staff on systems ran by Allstate staffed employees already. Be prepared to ship your computers into sites if you work from home. When lay offs happen they do it quickly to minimize negative press. This won’t happen in “phases” it will be announced in one day to avoid disruption from the remaining staff and the announcement will be “all employees impacted have been let go...” rebuild will continue not looking back at those left unemployed. Be mentally prepared and seek help when you need it not if you need it. We are in a pandemic, when you are laid off if you feel s–c-dal please call for help. You will get through this.

Allstate is throwing us out in the street for years of hard work and loyalty with these layoffs . How are we supposed to find a job right away and pay our bills , mortgages and feed our families during this pandemic ? While other insurance companies have vowed not to have layoffs , Allstate has no conscience.

I hope Allstate is still around in 2030 for those who remain and wish to be employed.

Allstate will likely transform into a different type of corporation by 2030. With that there will be a shift in concerns and priorities. Gone are the days where American corporations used to care about the American people or at least pretend to. Now power can be amassed on the global level so that is where the focus will be. Remember, corporations don’t exist because they care about people, they exist to make money and amass power and control. Expect to see increasing talks pretending to care about people throughout the globe. The current path will disturb the human consciousness and power dynamics on all levels. Prepare for a bumpy road ahead. Stay strong and try not to become apathetic. Your ancestors survived through similar hard times and came out the other end to flourish and so can you. You are not alone. This could be a much needed wake up call to rekindle your spirit. Look for opportunities and keep your heads up.
