Anyone here any rumbling of summer or fall round of RIF’s or Early Retirement programs? No Trolls please.

AC delivery in 2Q....highest ever.
Notably a few stacked up due to customers unable to PU @ end of 1Q due to COVID.
Deliveries are not the issue, sales being down is the issue.
I am not sure how it’s possible ‘not ‘ to lay-off again.
Prepping in case....
We heard more layoffs coming up in July as aircraft deliveries were the lowest in second quarter....
My opinion is we could still lose about 20% of engineers considering nothing much new is coming down the pipe. Getting myself prepared.
@"Get ready"...where did you get your info?
Get ready for 2nd round of layoffs coming in last week of July/first week of August and 3rd round in November-2020.
Lol. I don’t scowl at anyone. Not my job. I was offered a group head position a few years back when mine left. I agreed to take it on the condition that I get to hire my own people and none of the current coworkers would report to me. They declined and I turned down the offer.
Haha well the mom and pop place you’re going to doesn’t need all that with you around I guess. I feel bad for the guys you work with.. scowling at people for going to their doctors appts. Come on man. Besides your story isn’t all that unique- I’ve got the same one!
Oh yeah and GAC watches your badge scans with software called Lenel and will have security track the time your car is parked in the lot. You don’t even want to know what they do if you’re issued a computer. But yeahs mom and pop shops micromanage. Btw when wa the last time they send dogs through the parking lot?
“Mom and pop” lol. Industry leaders started the company I’m going to. 95% of the id–ts at GAC’s resumes would be rejected on the spot followed by a hardy laugh. We have huge contracts all over the world and only 50 people to fulfill them. I got my own office on the west coast, no set hours just deliverables. Decent relocation package and great schools for my kids plus a $25k pay bump. But you keep getting those steps in. And uggghhh can they PLEASE put the Nescafé coffee makers back in ughhh!!!!!
The funny thing is I watched all these blobs of meat sit at GAC and collect six figures for not doing John squat. I was always nice and friendly so a lot started opening up and complaining about food in the fridge, cleanliness of the restrooms and coffee machine issues etc.... the whole time I’m thinking man you don’t do sh– here and you just b–ch b–ch b–ch and I know people stapling furniture that are more qualified for your position. it took me a couple of years to realize that most don’t even realize that they’re worthless lazy id–ts, I see some of that bleeding through here. All those participation trophies and attaboys from mom and dad really boosted their egos, you are special i know. I grew up poor as dirt and worked my a– off as a kid who was kicked out of his home at 15 yo and Learned numerous trades. In the process I picked up a couple of engineering degrees (all paid for from my paycheck, no loans or parents). I am a commercial rated pilot and hold multiple engineering degrees, currently working on my IA. All as a homeless 15 year old drop out. So please please please tell me about your lot in life and how I shouldn’t concern myself with your smoke breaks when I’ve likely been covering your a– for the better part of the past decade.
Mr. E9 I think you definitely need to go back to your mom and pop places that micromanage and count the minutes it takes and times that you go to the bathroom. That’s definitely a mom and pop mindset.
My guess is two more rounds of layoffs in 2020....One in August and second in November....
I can't believe they are hiring brand new inspectors that we have to train. when they just laid off good experienced inspectors. I have been here at GAC for 22 yrs . I was spared. My days are surely numbered though. There are not a lot of legacy employees left. I am updating my resume and plan to leave GAC very soon. Cash in my pension early...at least it will be enough to make a house payment for the rest of my life.
Sorry about that. I don’t like when my walking around the RDC parking lot cuts into my 1.5hr lunch break. That would mean that my after lunch coffee break might cause my smoke break to run a little long. And gosh darn it you have to walk all the way across the street to have a smoke now. Speaking of which I probably need to schedule a few dr visits for something. Don’t want to let that PTO go to waste.
Can’t hack it at GAC? Lol my biggest fear is that I’ve actually forgotten how to do actual work. The bar is so low at GAC it doesn’t take much to stay above water.
Gotta run fellas, I like cutting out a little early to beat that pooled parkway traffic
E9 here. BRB gotta go get my steps in.
E9-
Between last layoff and this one, there were guys let go who you likely weren't fit to spit shine their shoes. A person who retired on the job is a rare one at GAC with as many layoffs the company has had in my time going back to the early 2000's. I'm a lucky one. I am still here, but I lost some excellent colleagues for no other reason than one program finished, and when they merged the engineers, there were too many for the amount of work left to do as business is in decline at GAC. Each one let go was a true professional and I miss the camaraderie of so many. If you can't hack it at GAC, its best you go to a mom and pop. But don't disrespect the many fine engineers who came before you and will be there after you.
I wasn’t blaming anyone for anything. Just stating the obvious. Not leaving for any moral reason. I’m just a wh–e and and managed to pick up about $25K more a year at a small engineering firm. Also, Tired of the corporate nonsense. This was my 1st and last corporate gig. Honestly, the retired on the job coworkers that the company won’t deal with are as big of a problem as so called leadership. When you’ve worked for nothing but small firms and show up at GAC and see an incredible amount of unqualified people doing nothing or being counterproductive it’s shocking. I walked into work on the 1st day super intimidated. It took me about 1 day to realize it was a pre-retirement home. —Soon to be former E9 Troll.
I’m glad you stopped blaming all the folks that were let go and realized that there really is an actual problemo over there, Mr. E9. Best of luck.
Concur. Anyone who isn’t painting the country with resumes should be. Im heading out. Turning my notice in on Tuesday.

Last year it was October for the fall purge. I can’t see anything getting better at Gulfstream. I’d be finding a new job now if I were you. It’s harder when you are competing with a whole bunch of RIFFed folks for a few jobs. Get one before the rush.
Normally it happens yearly in mid November, so they don’t have pay your salary during Thanksgiving & Christmas break. Second peak for Covid is currently modeled happen to hit around September (when it gets colder); my money would on beginning of November.
