That is the dumbest thing I have seen all day. That takes the cake. Thankyou altruistic employee for being such a highly valuable team player that you would devalue your worth just to stay home to keep netflix going. What a crock of sh*t. If they came out and said to keep working from home take a 10% paycut you all would be up in arms throwing a fit. Stop kidding yourselves.

As I mentioned earlier, why doesn't anyone mention liability in this forum thread.
You can't demand someone come in, if they don't want to, if they have a health issue
that makes them highly susceptible to catching this virus in particular.
They also can't come in if they feel they will jeopardize someone
in the family or a friend, etc. they are in the same house or apartment with.
If that is also your situation, then bring it up and let them know.
I’ve worked at home for 6 years now and I LOVE IT!!! My hours are GREAT! Just hoping not to get laid off in the next round 6.20.2020.
UHG has that program in place if you are an American, but you will give up all your pay.
Hopefully the company views working from home permernantly as a viable option. The company can save on rent and utilities, WFH will greatly help people with social anxiety, not everyone gets along at work, separating them even further will reduce stress, reduce liability of being injured at work, reduce spreading of illness (flu, cold, covid, etc.), This is extremely important to elderly workers and high risk employees, reduce polution, promote safer roads (less cars; less accidents, if impacted by weather conditions; snow, fires, floods).
I have no problem going into any place.
However, this virus is asymptomatic which means that they may show no symptoms or
a rise in temperature. They may not be affected at all and pass it on.
Even with this I have no worries. I get how some people have a concern because certain people
with health issues or something about how they have particular dna makes them more susceptible to get sick.
I am surprised by all these threads that no one mentions liability in this.
Everyone in health care should be aware of this word I would think? I know you aren't on
the front lines so you don't hear this word but it doesn't come up when you think about being forced to do something you don't want to do.
Yet I haven't seen anyone mention this whenever they make comments about it.
Granted I haven't read every single comment, so I could be wrong.
More and more employers are finding telecommuting works, and are hiring remote workers outside of the U.S. for less money. Some are hiring in the U.S., but from areas where the salaries a lower. This is a general comment and not specific to this employer. Just noticing a trend.
We shouldn’t even have to make that sacrifice, it should be given as an option to work from home until you feel safe or things get much better. Just because states open for small businesses, doesn’t mean we have to be back in the office just because higher ups don’t trust lower level workers working from home full time.
The nearly two hours I would save in commute time alone would be worth it.
