I remember from the employee manual it said u can't record someone without their permission even though nc is a one party consent state. So if ur dealing with a jerk or harasser u can't record secretly and give to be.
Also performance related discussions can't be recorded. So u can't record a boss making false claims about ur behavior or performance etc.. or u clarifying u actually did that work..
Maybe it was best to record in secret and use later for negotiation.
