Here are a lot things not normally?!
Crafts are up 70%....are Mattel sales up this amount? There are a lot of clueless folks at Mattel who would not recognize a trend or opportunity.
".....but you're CEO of a company nobody's ever heard of or gives two sh!ts about." That comment is SO Mattel. The company attracts and keeps the superficial wannabes. While they've all been looking at the companies that 'everyone' has heard of they've been overtaken time and time again by the upstarts, the come-from-behinds, and the never-heard-ofs who focus on something innovative or truly desirable. Goliath, meet David. Whoever wrote this you're more a part of the problem than you've considered.
Clearly I'm in the minority, but I'll miss her. She always seemed like a kind soul to me.
WOW! Crafts are the future! Nothing but upside! What an opportunity! Surely fireball Janet will awaken this sleeping giant!
It must be conflicting, on one hand, you've finally arrived in the CEO position, but your the CEO of a company no one has ever heard of or gives two $h!ts about.
She was unprofessional, ineffective and not capable. As a FOR she was given the keys to the kingdom but unable to rally her team. How she treated people was appalling- enjoy her horizon
I know! Let’s form a department that takes the essence of a brand and extends it across content and categories. And let’s call it BRAND MANAGEMENT like the rest of the world.
Too bad these ridiculous choices drive out quality people before they are corrected.
Not to mention the VP she brought in quit before the holiday. I think she lasted at Mattel almost a year. But hey, we got the San Rio license out of it! Another licensed brand to flush mo way down.
Toxic
she was truly terrible at mattel. good riddance.
Janet, don’t let the door hit you in the a– on the way out.
What will happen to the franchise group? The VP under her already left several months ago.
So soon.
