Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

AIG pushing to take PTO time:

It’s June already and currently Covid 19.
HR is not considering to allow more than 10 days to roll over into next year. It’s only considered to roll more over in certain situations like, “IT issues or upgrades”, o k a y .... yet not when Covid 19 deadly virus stopped us from our lives worldwide! Nonsense!

Management is now PUSHING employees to take PTO time. Trying to act concerned for employees’ health. It’s NO BRAINER that layoffs are approaching and happening. People wake up!!!
The more time taken before laid off, the less AIG has to pay out! Truth!!!

Well I certainly am not taking PTO time or much of it during this time. You can''t go on a nice vacation or get away so I am banking it until I feel like taking it. I may take a day here and there. I would rather gamble on a pay out for my unused PTO days. Oh ya manager''s are promoting that we take the time but I don't see them practicing what they preach

This is all true. They have to payout for any unused PTO days. Hence the push to have people take the days,,,

ya they want us to take it while we are at home so that when they do the RIF's they will have less to pay out. I am going to take mine when I feel like it.

Does anyone know how are Managers communicating to employees if laid off or furloughed, If employees working remotely?

Guess they only care about the FTEs who remain. Job market will be brutal for many as other companies are starting their white collar rifs to get rid of older employees

IF YOU GET INVITED TO AN AMBIGUOUSLY NAMED MEETING, ACCEPT THE MEETING, BUT LEAVE THE BUILDING PRIOR TO AND SAY YOU HAD A FAMILY EMERGENCY; THEN, CHECK WITH YOUR COLLEAGUES ABOUT HOW THE DAY WENT (I.E. WHO GOT RIFFEDD)
