This is the exact situation i am in right now. My LL6 is completely useless when it comes to leading his section. All he does is sit in higher level meetings, says nothing in them, and provides zero guidance or strategic delegation of who is covering what. You ask him a question, you get three answers:

This is probably the worst supervisor i have ever had at my time at Ford. I am so close to hitting the eject button and taking my career in a different direction. It's gotten so bad in the last 5 years that I don't know if they can pull through it. The engineering function has got their gonads cutoff by finance, purchasing, EPLM, and ridiculous GPDS timing. They are not letting engineers behave like engineers, which is ethically/morally corrupt. The way we are cutting corners in the name of rushing to market is of great concern. We are not making soda pop, toothpaste, or baby yoda toys. We are making 5000lb objects that move down the road at 80mph.
