I've seen some talk of companies offering voluntary buy outs or voluntary separations. In some circumstances this could be a win win. In my opinion this is something Dell should institute immediately. We just saw KQ announce her retirement based on her feelings after the pandemic primarily.....while others may not have the financial stability she does with the right offer others may be ready to move on as well. WIN WIN. Thoughts?

Well in my opinion, Dell is not the place to work. While the company overall is good, their managers are much to be desired of. They put people into management cus they s— up. They have no people skills yet they are the ones on every email stating "team this and team that". They are the farthest from being team players. I often wonder how so many of these folks were put into their positions, actually it's by kissing a– big time. Karma is a b–ch and their time will come.
If you have been at Dell long enough you know what comes next and wholesale VR's are not it. Jack up the targets and thats a huge pay cut and people choose to leave with no severance payment. Sure you lose some good with the bad, but net net same impact.
True on the economy rebounding. There are 42 M folks out of work, there is no way we are going to rebound quickly. Dell is all about revenue coming in of course. If numbers are not being met, they are going to cut employees, no two ways about it. Storage and servers are down, which they have been, only worse now. Never take what management states as gospel, they know they are going to cut heads this is in the works now. There are managers currently working on severance packages and headcount is being looked at closely, if they don't like you, you will be cut.
Lets slow down on the 'economy is rebounding'. We saw what I think are going to prove to be false indicators. We are still deep in the woods here, and far from an economic rebound.
It would be smart, indeed but, from what I've seen, Dell's upper management has no rhyme or reason for the people they seem to target.
economy is rebounding right now. Why would you settle for pay cuts and no 401(k) match. You might as well work somewhere else at that point.
I hope, but I also hope instead of firing they do exec pay cuts, then everyone gets pay cuts instead of ayoffs. EMC did it and avoided layoffs back in the day...
