$4.4M!! And Dickie d—son.. $1.9M! They don’t care about the health of Mattel!! They are laughing all the way to the bank! Forget saving jobs! forget doing the right thing! We are swirling the drain and the board rewards them!

I know someone who's SVP at Mattel. No wonder they are going to Europe yearly, glamping, Disneyland whenever they want, Hawaii, NY a few days just for funzies. Seems like every other week they are going on five star vacation somewhere. What is that, like a $100k vacation budget per year? For a family of 4 all flying bus. class. Plus two Kids in private school at $50k per year.
DO YOU THINK THEY ARE WORTH THAT? FOR SCREWING UP MATTEL?! WHEN DO THEY ACTUALLY WORK?
Talk about overpaid and underworked, just wow.
SVP's make as much $$ as surgeons?! What the actual Hell. All that and unlimited vacay time. What the HELL!!
I think $200K is about $199K too much.
200k's alright, but seems kind of weak, wasn't he the guy who dreamed up the concept for Hot Wheels ID and spearheaded the project?
Let’s see, Down the Clown is an SVP so his salary would be around $350k-$400k per year. Bonuses for SVP’s were above the target of 50% of their salaries so he most likely got about $200K.
How much bonus did Chris Clown make?
The executives at Mattel are only out for themselves, that’s been proven over and over again. Drain the swamp! Anyone with VP or above needs to go, they’re all complicit and crooked.
Well since there will be no in person employee updates until 2021 you can’t stand up in the cafeteria and ask the question to put him on the spot. They filter all questions that you submit via the live stream. I know this because I’ve submitted numerous questions in the past that have just been ignored. The worst part is if Mattel files bankruptcy next year I guarantee that Ynon would be out and they would give RD a retention bonus. He has outlived 4 CEO’s, the company c—roach lives on. Onward!
Is there anyone that's going to have the guts to ask them about this at the next Employee Update (note - I don't work there anymore)?
It doesn't need to be overtly confrontational - but how would they answer if someone said, "Hi Richard - we appreciate the update and it's obviously been a trying time for the company with everything going on in the world. I know everyone's working hard on turning it around, from the bottom all the way to the top - and I know that layoff's are an unfortunate reality of that. We're all making sacrifices for the greater good here in the hope that better days are ahead. That said, I was surprised to read that you received a bonus of $1.9M on top of your regular salary. Is that true?"
What an incredible deer in the headlights moment. How would he answer that?
Your job would be absolutely secure, because if you got fired or laid off while he was still there you could absolutely make a case that it was retribution.
It’s a slap in the face to investors, that’s for sure.
That money could've saved many jobs. Honestly, I got a pretty good bonus this year. Sure, I've earned it, but it seemed like a lot of money as I'm not used to getting that high of a bonus. After all, it's a 'bonus' on top of what I make, and that's a decent amount. With the recent layoff, I would have settled for less of a bonus. We should've all settled for less, especially those making hundreds of thousands with their base salary.
What’s a ”media impression”? Is that when you make the whole world think you’re going bankrupt, because you literally are ”capital light,” - and then you reward the executives with huge bonuses for their incompetence? Nice ’media impression’ Mattel!
Next year all bonuses will be paid in media impressions.
How good must it be to be part of an exec team that reports to a board that doesn’t measure success or pay bonuses based on profit or sales performance! “You tried really hard dicky - your innovation s—ed but you got some media impressions so that will do... here’s a couple of millions bucks“
