I was temporarily laid off by UPS last week. I don't know if I should worry or believe them when they say this is just temporary. Has anybody else been in a similar situation?

We just got word of possible layoff today.. 6/2/2020. Is this to date?
I just got permanently laid off along with about 30 other individuals in the bensenville branch for the freight division.
I'm really worried.
