Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Rehire after being layed-off in 2016 for Stock-Level4

When I was layed off in 2016 because I got a stk-level 4,I was told that I can never be rehired.
However,I see that some people who were in the same situation as me have been rehired.

Is there a change in Intel policy of rehiring?

Getting 1 (and only) stock-level 4 in my 18 years at Intel was hardly "low performance" but in 2016 and only 2016, it was considered to be a mark of low-performance.

Any info is appreciated

Seriously, OP, do ourself a favor and look at the direction Intel has been headed in for years now and ask yourself why you would want to return. I can only imagine that some people get so used to a place and so comfortable that that becomes paramount over making a good career move. It’s like the prisoners in The Shawshank Redemption who were finally released back into the world but found themselves yearning to return to the only home they’ve known for a significant chunk of their lives - prison.

I cannot recommend working for Intel! Try to find a better company.

Intel is so much WORSE than it was in 2016! If you enjoy hating yourself, and hating every waking hour at work, then by all means, go back... Shooting yourself in the d–k would be a lot less painful.

Wait... It's been 4 years and you still couldn't find another position?

Not everyone does a satisfactory job when hiring. There was a problematic person transferred to my team who continued to make problems after I gave him a fresh start. When I had to deal with him, HR was astounded he was back at Intel after being fired in the past.

I’m not comparing you to a bad worker, I’m sure you are nothing like him. I know that firing people based on stock level 4 was one of the dumbest management moves ever. I’m just sharing a story so you know not everyone follows procedures when hiring.

Why would you even waste the time? This will catch up to Intel....but not for a long while. My story is the same, but make it 22 years when 2016 hit with stock level 4

Any update on this? Is it confirmed that there is a possibility of re-hiring?

Why would you go back to a place that kicked you to the curb?

Is external hiring restriction lifted? I assume there is an external hiring restriction in progress since earlier this year before COVID-19.

What is a stock level 4, for the uninitiated.

I have also heard that it is possible, but it requires special approval at the VP level. I don't think the standard official policy has changed though, I was basically in the same situation as you, but replace 18 years with 23 years!

Why don't you just apply and see what happens?
