I filled a new claim.
I checked back today as instructed and submitted for next week but did not read the alert at the top of the page that said don't submit for a new week unless I have been contacted that my newly filed claim was processed and approved.
I called GDOL and left a message with my confirmation number.
Checking the UI status page says no new claims or information available.
Waiting for the process now.
Has anyone had any luck with the new filing? For me, it keeps saying employer already filed a claim, however, when I filed a new claim, it told me to login 6/03 to file again, and I did, and am still getting the same message. Calling the GDOL or the local office is no help, the call gets cancelled or you are told to leave a message.
I asked Gulfstream HR via email and received guidance that when filing the claim, the start date should be May 15 (the date of formal termination) and the end date should be the number of weeks on which the severance is based.
Here’s what I’m thinking. I have 45 days to sign the severance so I have till approximately June 30 . So I estimate I won’t receive the payment for probably another month so I put on the application July 30th.
We will see what happens.
I’ve only received 2 weeks so far.
I’m going to claim unemployment till I receive my money. I have a question about the severance. If it’s a lump sum then technically I’m paid one day and still unemployed the next. Where does it say I need to stretch it out the 17 weeks . I think the 17 weeks should only be used to calculate what the lump sum is and shouldn’t have anything to do with unemployment
