Hopefully they RIF the leadership team and the entire HR leadership.
I heard today from a former coworker that another RIF might be happening soon.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me once, shame on me. Nothing else to add. This is our opportunity to find a better company and not choose the confort life. Let's go people..
Loved my job, had hoped to build a career at GAC, got RIF'd.
As it stands, I'd go back given the opportunity. But I'd do so with my eyes open, and with the intent to get what I can for myself and my own development out of the company ASAP, with an eye toward making myself more desirable elsewhere.
And when the right opportunity came along, I'd take it.
GAC has shown it won't hesitate to base their conduct with their employees as "just business", so I've no problem considering that a two way street.
I feel like a bit of a fool - having watched my father give decades of his life to a company, only to be canned when he neared retirement and became 'too old and expensive' - and yet somehow thinking GAC wasn't that kind of operation.
I won't be fooled again.
@ I'm conflicted- unless you are a local, I recommend getting out of here. Outside of GAC, Savannah businesses don't pay much. Go to work for a smaller organization. The best job my wife ever had was with an architectural and engineering firm. Left it to follow me into the world of aeroplanery. Their benefits made GAC look pitiful. She was jerked around last Oct. and I was just laid off. Both in early 60's. I feel so bad for bringing her into this realm. Not ready to retire and people are reluctant to hire.
I'm conflicted. I really want to come back but not sure if I want to come back to such a toxic company.
I really want to get an interview for my old job coming back. And then tell my manager to f*ck off. Hell, I would get a free trip to Savannah...
Not I! I would just as soon watch the smoke of the funeral pyre from the other side of the fence. Watch mb, dz and their s—ettes panic.
How do you know? Citation needed.
and go back into a toxic work place with a constant layoff cycle. Great idea! Move on with your life Gulfstream is NOT the best place to work
Thanks but NO thanks.
