I received an email from HR stating I will need to file for unemployment because the severance package has been provided. I have not received the severance package, but GAC has processed it. Now I will have to apply for unemployment by initiating a new claim. Do not try to claim weekly benefits as it will only give you an error instructing you that your employer has already filed on your behalf, you will need to file a new claim yourself to receive unemployment.

Yea, this is clear as mud. Im laid off once, why file twice? Why duplicate the amount of data to be processed? Having GS file for us, only for us to file for ourselves, does not help.
Why does my UI benefit show: " Benefit Year Begin (BYB) Date: 05/10/2020" when 5/4 was technically the first unemployed day we had? Any insight?
I got two weeks of unemployment from Gulfstream filing for me. Nothing for last week (ending 5/23) or this past week. I filed a NEW claim as myself and went through the whole process. I even used the same PIN with my SSN. It LOOKS like I'll be getting paid for 5/23.
I would suggest taking care of this RIGHT NOW, today, because 5/23 is still "last week." But to the person who lost 3 weeks of unemployment, if you got the two weeks from GAC, you should still be good.
I did try to file as new claim, but couldn’t find file as new since all link to my SSN. Does anyone get success and how ? So frustrated.....
If I'm reading this right, we have permanently lost 3 weeks of unemployment benefits...is there a legal case to be made for suing Gulfstream for that money back? I am under the impression that Gulfstream said they were applying for UI for us and never stated an end date or time period.
How do you know GAC has processed your severance? I mailed mine back after signing my life away but have not heard anything.
Seriously? I got same message and thought I was good. So now I need to ignore that and go file again. I’m about sick of how this has been handled after years of hearing what a great employee I was.
