Maybe some of us see a future at Oxy with everyone leaving. If you are smart and a good employee, there will be advancement opportunities. LAPC still has plenty of outs for COC after the one year mark. With the company taking drastic measures to preserve cash and cut everything that is not absolutely essential, we will avoid BK. Like Icahn said, he believes that shareholders will be rewarded, so it's worth staying. Some LAPC employees wanted out under the original VSP or COC but were prohibited by management.

Sorry, but at the risk of appearing dense: what is IT integration?

Every organization has 5 different types of people.

1st the visionary

2nd the barbarians

3rd the builders & explorers

4th the administrators

5th the bureaucrats & aristocrats who screw the whole thing up.

Looks oxy is on bottom list.

Does anyone remember the KMG integration? APC had talented people integrating systems. Too bad OXY wanted to do everything their way. APC folks would have had it done months ago

There is no reason LAPC and LOXY in the Permian are on separate systems.

Why integrate computer systems when you are going to be selling assets?

This post is the most accurate statement in this entire Oxy lay-off page. Outsiders who are reading this take note that any high level IT Oxy employee should not hire into your company. They will say on their resume that they integrated two multi billion dollar corporations but zero integration has occurred. As an employee we are all suffering from this.

All I’m sayin’ is we had beautiful seamless IT performance at APC. Apparently we took it for granted.

Reliable infrastructure is baby stuff . Stuff that far lower wage employees can pull off seamlessly in India and the Philippines, but seemingly out of the reach of Oxy IT.

OXY IT is busy reading and liking Yammer posts from their VPs and Directors.Who cares about integration.

The IT Integration is a Joke..They all are busy a$$ki$$ing. The folks in charge of so called integration program got promoted and careless about the integration. The people who worked under these directors got promoted, shuffled and don't give a damn about it either. The innocent mix of L-APC and L-OXY folks now even don't have any clue how to deal with this mess.

It takes $, and there isn’t any to be had. Plus there’s barely enough competent people to keep systems up. How many times has SAP been down this month?

What are they doing?
