AT&T is about financial profit, so the big guys have their meetings(boat trips, golf, etc) and throw numbers around and unfortunately if they dont add up to whatever the latest financial or investment advisors predicted they have to cut costs. As a prem tech I humbly accept that; however what I dont understand is the dead culture at CWA (D9 to be specific). Will NEVER forget at orientation being lied to. Feeling optimistic after the union vowed, because of cwa my job was secure! And the company had to find us another position if layoffs were to happen. The truth is CWA D9 is DIVIDED does not operate on core union values; the leaders should all be held responsible since they havent owned up to the truth and step down!!! The 5k severance is a slap in the face to prem techs just like the contract. No fight , no action, no talent. I will miss interacting with co workers, meeting new customers and completing those challenging jobs. Not being a member of cwa

Come on, CWA does very little to help. It's a "Company Union". CWA = Can't Win Anything

"I humbly accept that". You accepted everything the company put before you even the 5k. Now they don't need you. Humbly accept it.
Best part about this whole situation is the fact that there is no arbitrations right now. They are all on hold due to covid. You can file your grievance but if the company says no there's no one to there to do the arbitration. Basically once again the company getting what they want and the union sitting back on their hands.
Craft people should walk out till we get that retirement benefit back that they are taking away at the end of the year. CWA stands by and does nothing.
If you are craft and would walk out vote me up, if you are craft and don't care then vote me down. If you are management then don't vote.
Just file as a Conscientious objector, you still pay dues but you get to dictate where that money goes to.
I wonder how many unrepresented employees are being told that “There’s not going to be a raise this year due to the COVID pandemic”. Yet here at this represented job your getting overtime and automatic raises no matter what the economy is doing.

Thanks for stating the facts. The truth hurts and the CWA is at fault. This union has very little connection with the members, but is very connected to the company. This is fraud in the worst way. Every prem tech should have their dues returned and create a class action lawsuit to sue the union for deceit and misrepresentation.
