Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Numbers are so high.

Would rather leadership say that we need to load the targets so high to reduce payroll and keep jobs in Corona than pretending they are remotely possible. We are all adults and we can take the news.

The sales quotas at Dell are based on historical numbers per account weighted over the last several years ....,some accounts have been devasted by the pandemic (don’t want them) and others have done well do to their customer engagement model ( digital interface and delivery - business as usual). In the end management will get rid of who they don’t want.

How you are supposed to keep a team motivated when they have been told the number is not meant to be even remotely possible. It has a direct impact on them and the customers they work on. If they cant afford it that's fair given corona but find some other incentive and be honest about it.

Sales is always based on historical #s. This is just how sales works (almost regardless of where you work) . You have up years and down years. Anyone that can't accept this and properly budget for ups and downs should perhaps not be in sales.

Numbers are based on historicals, not the current market environment. As long as you are selling more this time of year than last year you’re golden!

Numbers will be rolled as if nothing has changed. Get ready for 6 months of pain and a trip down pip lane.
