I was let go after 15+ years of doing the same thing and several of my peers was let go after 20+ years. Company kept employees that had less experience over us but with more years of service. How does that make any sense?
The government business will be gone once they fail to produce proof the government data can be identified (it can’t). The game plan is to slow lay-off every month in stealth mode till near 100% ctl India offshoring is achieved and it will be. Dis company sold their souls to the devil a long time ago.
For all of you id–t doubters, I was the one that posted this. I was let go in what they call reduction in force. This was real for me. After 23 years. It's impossible for you clueless troll's to fathom the magnitude of this. Maybe someday CTL will hire the talent back. But for now it's just dollars and cents. CTL has extremely lucrative contracts with the government. Defense and NASA. They are not hurting.
Any update to this. Trying to hang in for a couple more years but not sure that is going to happen. Used to love this job but it makes me sick now.
It’s over numbers are met, this is how we will run from here on out...Lord help us!
They could get rid of the inept help desk(the so called internet help desk) most of those folks are dumber than a box of rocks anyway, so it wouldn't be a big loss.
2 yeas to go. I hope it has that long before it falls apart?
Took a VSPP today, feels good. If you are close to retirement, stick with it. If not, take advantage of the tuition reimbursement and get the heck out.
I can confirm, a friend in IT was let go today. Exactly one weeks notice, involuntary. They are laying off onshore IT workers and keeping the offshore Centurylink India workers.
It definitely seems to be where you are as to who may be affected. They asked for first levels to leave my RCA and three volunteers with only one accepted. We have been lucky so far no techs have had to leave and with the massive amounts of contractors on our RCA the company can’t afford to lay off because all contractors have to leave first. Good luck guys.
I was also impacted. Rumored 1/3 of IT and others across the company.
Weird no layoffs today. . .
Why does everyone complain about posts regarding layoffs? That’s literally the name of the website? If you post anything other than that type of information, you’ll get blacklisted. If you want to be told your glass is half full, go watch a Tony Robbins video on YouTube. You “corporate sheep” need to allow people to relay information they are able to obtain and form your own opinion and stop blasting them because you have no idea what you’re talking about or you wouldn’t be reading it.
If they had a "quota" they wouldn't have left multiple people that wanted to leave hanging when they offered packages. I personally know of 3 people who put in for the June 19th package that were denied.
I appreciate the candid foresight, if it’s accurate. I’ve found this sight to be quite accurate although some posts cause widespread panic over a regional issue. If you follow this sight for AT&T, Verizon, and if you’re really brave Frontier and Windstream, you’ll see that our industry is unraveling much quicker than most and this person’s post, timely or not, really only forecasts the inevitable.
It's a shame people post this dribble...knowing its BS just to mess with people who are worried about their jobs. Shame on you.
What areas?
I call BS on every post about layoffs because I know everything about everything , DOH ! just got laid off ,,... i have to leave in 10 mins.
Calling BS on this. Hundreds in our area put in but only a handful were let go. I don't believe it has anything to do with not meeting numbers. It is all about selective cutting now. They are getting rid of the people they don't want.
It’s to free up revenue to form our inclusion committee, come on guys time to sacrifice
Where is this at? What positions?
Confirmed - I too was impacted. Funny how no news outlets have reported
