Temporary layoffs in Canada

Any news on temporary layoffs in Canada?

Any details on how many weeks they keep you on it? Do you still get benefits? Do they severe you once they hit 13 weeks (Employee Standard Act)?

I appreciate any information that you can provide.

If they are offering temporary layoffs or constructive dismissal (regular layoffs), they are fishing. Once your name is on that list, you are done. Severance package in Canada is much better than the USA. Take the package and run. Plus you can apply for EI.

I wonder if anyone is taking the temporary layoffs or going straight to the constructive dismissal. Wish the best to those who have to make the choice.
