Maybe if we laid off all the people who spend their days participating in the 11 different support groups we wouldn't be losing $7 Billion so far in 2020.

Diversity is corporate Kool-Aid. The ulterior motive is to keep the workforce divided. Leadership knows if the working class was united, they would not stand a chance. Instead they prop up these differences in gender and skin color in an effort to divide us. I mean honestly, if we were unified what would stop us from getting mo–ns like Hackett and Farley removed? We could shut plants and offices down until sensible leadership replaced them, only if we had a united front. Instead TWA female gets promoted, white guy busting his a– says screw it and puts in the bare minimum for a paycheck. They make us fight for the sc-aps, or not fight at all. Then you have your perennial Chads and Karens that are running a muck of the place, not giving a sh– about their employees. Leadership divides intentionally to pay everyone less so they can get paid more.

I worked with the VP of quality. I would say she is smart, she has an engineering degree from Georgia Tech and manufacturing experiences through crises. However, I think she chooses to be a loyal servant to the CEO and COO, I have witnessed her say that. She seemed to imply that she had better ideas but but she knew better than to assert herself. I really was not impressed or inspired.

Incompetent promote incompetents
Insecure promote only people less skilled than themselves.

The thing is if you are unhappy with the quality of the management, look a layer up- those jokers promoted the inept. The jokers might be blowing smoke to you saying they were required to, but everyone knows that is a lot of tosh.

Over the years I have only had one female supervisor. Very sharp and capable. She left Ford and is a VP at another company.
The remaining supervisors were all white males. Two were competent and engaged. Three were retired on the job. One was a bubbling id–t, he golfed with an LL4. One was a volatile drunk who fortunately spent most of the day at a bar in Dearborn. One was a weasel who spent all his time sxxx-stirring and knifing others.

Competent leadership has been rare at Ford in the past few decades. It is interesting that the first three supervisors I had were competent and after that a long downward slide. My current supervisor is retired on the job.

However, it is lot easier for incompetent Female to get into leadership as compared to incompetent Male. There is a push to fill in certain quota of gender target. Also the pool of females to tap from is smaller. Males have to compete much more... "Obvious" need to be stated without worrying about politically correct sound bytes..

@1xkg BS on your fairer gender assumptions. Most of the males in charge are threatened by intelligent, highly skilled competent women. They bully the competent and promote the incompetent women. Then the results are incompetent supervisors and managers.
Those in charge, white males, do the same with every demographic so you end up with a rainbow of incompetence all controlled by and beholden to those in charge.
The competent white males who are not promoted then become angry with every other demographic, which was by design.

The whole problem stems from senior leadership.

Agree with previous comments on gender preference. Supervisors are afraid of giving constructive Perf Review feedback to fairer gender. White Males, specially from majority race, are Screwed. Ford should benchmark start up company culture. Only preference is hard work and smarts. Not the gender. Statistics will show that fair gender leader at traditional companies tend to get away with lot... Do not respond to emails/ requests from lower level people. They manage their relationships upwards. No regards to business down under them, which they are supposed to lead. So long as Boss is happy, all is well. leave the screw ups to next guy taking over the mess. This is social gender behavior as if responding to the suitor's requests is discretionary.. workplace is not a lounge. People asking questions are not necessarily chasing you... It is a workplace where everyone is accountable. No cutsie

if Fed raises interest rate by 1% then Ford will have to pay 1.5 Billion extra. The company will file for bankruptcy before 2025. Bye bye to the pension funds.

"All" Males are marginalized; not just from one group as stated in the previous post... certain gender gets priviledges in advancements and pampered soft glove treatment in day to day work. Expectations are different for different gender...

Ford is no longer a good ole boys club. That ended years ago with the diversity clubs now in place. Males of certain color have been marginalized in this new culture. Yes a few remain at the top but most are pushed down so others can get special development and rapid promotions.

The goal of diversity should be about equal opportunity and developing superior products resulting from diversity of ideas. Leadership wants their team pictures to look diverse but they don’t welcome the diversity of thought.

Don't forget the useless Pulse surveys. I knew people that conspired with their peers to give great ratings so that they wouldn't have to deal with the cute little groups that were formed to solve their complaints. At most you would have 2 meetings and then everyone moved on with their lives.

And, directors that laughed at them as a check the box exercise.

It really is amusing to look back on this now!

Hackett should step down. Or he could be asked to walk away and “spend more time with his family”. I don’t care who replaces him as long as they have stellar leadership skills and care about the company and its employees.

More virtue signaling. 30 years of Ford observation say nothing will really change.
It will continue to be a good ole boys club.

Pay attention to the positions and responsibilities diverse employees are given.
They are always pawns of the good ole boy club. They quickly learn they are puppets.

In 30 years did anything substantive change in the Chicago plants?
