Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Info on claims layoffs

Per info coming from someone in the know with claims leadership supposedly claims is looking at around a total 50% reduction all around. About 1/3 are safe with no assessment needed, about 1/3 will be getting assessments with about half of those retained and half let go, and about 1/3 straight RIF with no assessment. So in short only about 1/3 of claims in different areas of claims will be getting assessed. I have no information regarding the breakdown of areas within claims and where they sit in terms of safe, RIF,or assessment reviewed. The main estimated time frame for information to start being communicated is between early next week and end of July with things in regards to claims final by end of August is the goal. Again this is just what is being said word of mouth. Take with a grain of salt.

What again are these exciting times that were being talked about in the memo?? This would be like saying to your friends these are exciting times right now when you were going through a divorce with your spouse. Who talks like this ever in the real world?

Well, something is happening (or not happening) in claims because many agents are being asked to go to customers' homes to take photos of storm damage. WTH???

Does this include all claims, like Property?

Beat us like mules while they float around on the yachts that our backs paid for. Sounds about right.

A lot of the lost US claims and processing jobs will be worked in India and remaining claims can expect a huge workload increase. Cost per unit is what it is all about.

This does not surprise me at all. They will keep playing around and not be all that transparent until they are ready and still will not be all that forthcoming. Will they have Pune India doing claims? Since it is cheaper giving them the world and lay off people in the USA. Good luck to you all. It is going to be a rough few months. I wondered how they are going to lay off people who are still working at home with their equipment? You log into your computer and no longer have access???? Just my opinion.

I aint got time for this. All this speculation, 3700 jobs, 1/3, 40%, 50%. At this point I am over all the bull c-ap. This whole situation is a pain in my trash. Allstate need to quit playing and just tell us what's up. No assessment, an assessment, hold up, legal didnt approve. Assessments are back on. This is too much, tell us what the hey it is so we can get this over with. Whomever is in charge of these layoffs, the communication of such, need to be laid off themselves. Sad the way this is being handled. Sad they are talking about how exciting times are right now. I just can't! No debate!
