The days where we used to care are long gone. I'll happily sign off ANY workscope or TSG (whether I did them or not). Lets talk about real sh– now. Like how we should all check our calendars everyday, because the railroad has no problem stealing from you.

Sign it off, comply, don’t be subversive, or a troublemaker, etc. However they choose to word it, if you don’t, go home, do not pass go, no $200, furloughed, shut down, etc.

Just mouse whip it. Make sure to document the pressure to do so. After all, how slim are the chances that It will even matter. I’m sure our employer will have our back in case something goes wrong, wink, wink.

  1. Never sign off anything you didn’t inspect.
  2. Write up any defects you find as a result of your inspection.

This is easy guys.

Does it really matter at this point? If the power sits for too long, then the emails start flowing. Mechanical is harassed about the power, or threatened. The Mech. Dept isn't given enough time to properly service and repair the engines they still have running around. I wouldn't sign off any of them if I was in that position. If something were to happen like a mechanical derailment, then that would come back on the last person to sign off on the 9414. Thats just a guess though, but I could be wrong.

Yes as long as you sign it for the same date/time you did the inspection.
