Half of the department is in last act status, makes me wonder if Macy's is going to do away with the department.

Oh yeah, close an Icon Business , in particular a Women's Shoes area in a Department Store!
I think my store is doing away with the home dept little by little.. Enormous amounts of picks in fulfillment to the point the floor is getting cleared of merch, barely anything coming in and every floor move it looks like the department is shrinking while kids is growing. Lol!
Nobody in our store 703 wants to do the shoe audit. It's to much work.
We haven't done an audit since reopening. We are open sell and everything is out of the stockrooms.
Audits still done 5 days a week
Is the shoes colleagues still doing the shoe audits?
Most stores have been self-served for years. I guess you guys are the lucky ones.
LOL really? Macy's close the shoe department? It's the busiest department in most stores!
ALL departments are mostly Last Act right now because there is a lot of leftover spring markdowns from when all the stores closed. They cancelled most orders through summer and fresh goods are not coming til August/September.
And NO this does NOT mean Macy's is "secretly liquidating" either (sorry, Debbie Downers!). Most comparable retailers are low on stock right now because everyone is in the same predicament. Go check out Marshalls or any of the mall stores and you see the same thing.
God, you'd think some of you have barely worked in retail with some of the sh*t you come up with.
All the stores are waiting in receipts to start again. EVERY department is more than half Last Act. Ladies shoes is no exception. Receipts will start again in August.
Women shoes is not going away. The commissions is going. And it will turn to self serve. The shoes have been sitting since January and older styles and they canceled a lot of the spring/summer orders. You left with a rack for of junk and left overs. I. E last act !
Well I think it’s going to self serve. No commissions and less associates in dept.
Not doing away w/ladies shoes.
How about doing away with the entire company?
