Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Bwahhhh... Ha... Ha... Ha...

Great idea, Mr. Stankey and your College classmate with no industry experience (Bill) that you hired to design this "Transformation". Let's reduce staff in the areas where we are already stretched thin with no plan to redirect workflows. And while we are at it; let's tell Elliott and Wall Street that we are reducing management layers, while in reality, for the most part we are just moving around titles and retaining the same c-appy directors and managers that got us to this point. Better yet, let's propose a new business plan that basically mirrors what Verizon has been doing for the last 3 years. That aughta' do it. Chuckle-fest.

If Stankey was a genius, the company would have flourished the last decade, the stock would be stratospheric, there would be no debt, products would be solid, and customers and employees would be happy and retained. Even Wall Street has noticed the failures of the company, nobody is buying the fairy tale anymore. Just compare the stock market over the last 10 years with how the AT&T stock has performed. Pathetic. Stankey created this mess to begin with. He burned every good thing down, Uverse, DTV, Time Warner, Xandr, Alienvault, etc. He fired the people that had made those services great, and had no clue or plan on how to reassemble the leftovers. The same will happen with CNN and HBO. No automation or new hires can fix executive failures.

Are you serious? I hope you are joking.

Our future is not in HBO and CNN. The pay tv model is at its end, and ATT is not innovating anything. If you think launching a half assed streaming service that is more expensive than the competitors with 20 year old content is the future, then you are part of the problem. This company is failing because we are failing to innovate and bring fresh ideas to the marketplace. Think about years ago, we were forerunners in 3g, LTE, IPhone, and we even had netbooks in the stores at one point when they were new. We took chances in the places where it mattered, and they paid off for us. Now we just half hearted copy whats already there, and the products are sh–.

You are correct sir. You get a new car, and you get a new car etc. ! The truth is that the company as Bell System employees knew it died a long time ago. With it went integrity, pride, accountability and a work model that was intensely focused on customer service. We worked very hard to be the best at everything we did. That work ethic is extinct . Now days it’s about making money any way they can , as long as it doesn’t require taking care of customers needs that cost AT&T money. They need that to push advertising to get more information out on the latest smoke screen they are pushing. Soon the consumers will all be done with the company neglecting to provide honest dependable service. Let’s just go virtual, you know like Max Headroom all the smoke doesn’t bother him.

Folks, Stankey is a world-renowned management genius. Those who can't see it obviously aren't CEO material. Soon his chiseled visage will be on permanent display at all the top business schools.

Shut your face! Stankey can hire anyone he wants to fix this mess. It doesn't matter if he and Bill, the consultant, were college roommates or not. As far as supporting workflows after the reduction in staff, there are many customers that we would rather lose to the competition than continue to retain. This is all very strategic. Lastly, we are going to execute better on the plan that Verizon enacted 3 years ago. And we have an abundance of incredible talent and top notch personnel on the Warner Media team that we will gradually use to replace legacy AT&T management. Our future is in CNN, HBO, etc.
