Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Severe AC Issues

Our store has severe AC issues constantly. It is either not working properly or Belk is not running it enough to properly cool the store. On good days, downstairs is barely tolerable and upstairs is hot. On bad days, the whole store is a sauna. Customers constantly complain. It is so hot that you cannot work a register without a fan, and the masks make it worse. Belk should have better AC, especially due to required masks. It is very hard to work a full day. The heat in the store is outright dangerous. Belk should be ashamed of this.

I’m very disappointed with Belk where I shop. It’s terrible how they treat their employees. They expect much more than they pay for. You know they are making good money. Too cheap to pay them right! Greedy!!!

Stores scorching hot, like being in hell? Does the manager have a pitchfork?

or heat it, or turn more lights on so we can see what we're doing when we have to come in early. More of Harpers "cost control".

The AC is working fine, Belk does not wanna spend the money to cool the store.

Preach it ! Our store is the same. Once they said no fans. I said well if that's true then I'll find another job. Customers don't want to be waited on by someone pouring sweat. And that was before coronavirus. Could you imagine what they think now. I've had to put fans toward customers to cool them down . Customers complain also but it doesn't help.
