I thought Stankey wanted a flatter organization? Is this just more supervision of fewer workers?

The Mo and Anne chow teams aren’t going to let L3 and above go if it means they are at risk of losing their title due to too few direct reports. Everyone else is just part of the droid army. There is no accountability and no bench strength in any organization. AT&T never truly builds anything organically, they just acquire other companies with products, software or technology and try to shoe horn it into the company while b–tardizing the talent and pushing them out. Then they turn around and sell off the parts of the business they don’t want all while leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
T was a fat company, many overlaps in roles. This cut is just fat. They are not close to the bone.
2 director level layoffs in Pam Abel org
It is an incredible indictment of this company's leadership that all they continually do is reorg? It is ridiculous how they constantly shuffle the deck. The truth is it is their way of covering up accountability of their terrible leadership. Nothing ever gets better as they systematically ruin employees lives with no clear objective. It's always a new flavor of the month with their total devotion to fix things. Truth is they are as incompetent as it gets while they have a continuous green light for their ongoing destruction. Very sad state of affairs and as a result they have k–led all employee morale and respect. Blah blah blah ... It's their merry-go-round.
17-20 VPs took retirement over the last month.
McElfresh's "distance" dropped from 17 to 12 levels, so flattening has occurred.
Is it over? Unlikely.
Thats because they did the damn title shuffle with a lot of them as part of "restructuring". They saved them and cut the workers, and kept the company top heavy still. Its a joke what they are doing and trying to hide it.
I know of one L3 and one L4 who got the axe today. In Mo's group. Legacy AV folks.
20% of what? Is that 1 or 5 or 10? AT&T needs to reduce L3-L5 HC in real numbers not just 1-2 L3's ready to retire!!!\
I know of one AT&T Business VP organization under Mo that went down about 30% total... but KEPT all L4 AVPs, then cut two directors, and the rest of the cuts were L2s.
Our organization went down one Director today
20% of L3s in my particular chow group lost their job today.
My particular AT&T engineering kitchen already has way too many cooks who can't boil water.
