We are big, we've seen a lot of areas affected, but what areas can we determine were not touched, or only very lighted hit? I guess that means if you weren't cut today, then maybe they'll get us 4Q20

Believe it or not, there ARE areas of the business that aren’t related to any person whose title starts with a C that aren’t going to be touched...go figure! This is just the direction the company seems to want to go and that’s where the revenue is...Hmmmmm? Still processing their game plan and it sounds like it’s gonna work out about as well as the Directv deal did!
If your Title started with a capital "C", you got a raise. A big one that is payable in April 2021. If you were best buds with someone with a capital "C" in their title, you were untouched. If you worked in the parking garage at Dallas HQ and were responsible for the daily cleaning and detailing of the Executive cars that park on that level, you were untouched. If you were part of the aviation team that maintains and flies the executive jets, you were untouched. If you were related by blood to anyone with a title than begins with a capital "C", your were untouched (Yup, Stankey has relatives working for AT&T). Are you getting the picture? AT&T at its finest.
The out of region areas of the country were untouched and won’t be in the future even though there are many people that are retirement eligible and would love to volunteer if given the opportunity.
Unfortunately, they expect decimated sales teams to perform miracles by selling their asses off and generating business in these areas of the country. We’ll see how long it takes before they start wacking these IT orgs and sales teams, etc.! It’s only a matter of time!
DIRECTV Hahahaha
Employees that are 100% billable on government contracts under Chow/Williams were not affected, and most likely won’t be in future cuts. These are revenue-generating technical positions that require security clearances.
I’ve have over 30 years and you’re right, I have lived with this for a lot of years now. I am in the Consumer wireless organization under Shelly Lazzaro. We did not get hit but I knew before today that we were not targeted for this round of layoffs. No idea about the rest of the year though
Was Mobility impacted?
I think the Mail Room was spared, Lol. That is a wide open question. It was wide and deep and probably affecting different orgs at different times.
If you weren't touched today you'll be on the block for every other month you remain employed by T.
It's never a question of "if" you'll get laid off, only of "when".
It's not going to be a joy ride for those left behind, I work load will double and it's already been doubled, and then we gotta live with this dark cloud of layoff over our head till 4th quarter, more continued extra stress
How long have you been with the company? Me, over 25 years, and this is how it has been the whole time, only this year its more heightened. Does that make it ok, no, it still Stinky.
Cant give us 1 day of relief..can ya...
