Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

More info on layoffs and incoming changes

About 250 to 500 Pharmacists have been laid off to make up the numbers. More to come there is talks about stores closures coming 2. Walgreens wants to replace big stores with small ones. Also they will be laying off all the DMs and consolidating them. I would say if you are a Walgreens employee start shining that resume. If you are a pharmacist have some self respect and quit stop being bullied by these uneducated people

Bumped from @3djs+15LfPGc1 for important info.

If Walgreens would not allow just people to walk out with major amounts of merchandise and Walgreens instructs management not to interfere. I know its for safety but don’t blame management and team for missing targets etc. if Walgreens would get back to the old ways, don’t they realize the key is treating employees well and that trickles down to the customer.

Anyone else heard the rumor of bringing back the CL position and making districts bigger to eliminate the number of DM’s. Some DM’s in my area only have 10 stores.

Wish they would layoff long term Store managers and MAKE the DMs work those stores!

Have you seen the latest quarterly report? EPS way below expectations. Thank Boots UK for the $2 billion loss. How's the merger looking now? Walgreens US will never recover. Pessina doesn't care. He's in Monaco counting his billions and owns 15% of the company. He gets his huge bonus and everyone else gets a huge paycut. He would love the company to go private. Billions for him and job losses and less dollars for the employees. What a shame for a once great company. Pharmacists should quit before working for these insulting wages.

It’s a way to cut salaries. Offering new grads $42 per hour. Also laying off current workers with the promise to rehire but with less pay and benefits. Then future for Pharmacist looks bleak. Most chains are doing this. Set the clock back to 1999 wages.
