Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

WHEN IS THE NEXT ROUND OF RIF'S SCHEDULED FOR CLAIMS?

I heard that they are in the process of once again of reducing Head Count for Claims. I heard that this is anticipated to occur in late July or early August. I am just wondering if this is true as I don't see any new business being written. I know Covid 19 has a lot to do with a decrease in claim count, but the number of Insured's are going down and new business is going to TPA's. I don't understand why Claim Services isn't getting the business.

To Post ID: @alub+15S9xgfQ I don't think Claims is going to get hit this week. I could be mistaken but I think it's more like September or October. There will be ongoing RIF's. There is very little new business and it's all going to TPA's, what little that they write. I am glad I got RIF'd. What a toxic depressing place it's gotten to be.

To Post ID: @5kkw+15S9xgfQ. That's not the only department that is scheduled for layoff's. It appears that AIG 200 is going to be very chaotic. I think there will be parts sold off soon after Sept. or by the enc of the year. I am glad after 24 years that I got RIF'd. I hope those left behind that get RIF'd get the same severance before any divisions are sold.

The next round will be when the dust settles. It will be in the 3rd quarter so be prepared.

To Post ID: @3qcz+15S9xgfQ, that is so untrue. They don't know about all the problems and issues. Yes it is to cut costs but they would be provided with information that you would only give if you were let go. So open your eyes. You must be part of management who likes to cover these problems and issues up.

They do not care about information and they already know all the problems. They have been around for years. The propose of layoffs is to cut expenses.

I am surprised they don't do an exit interview. They could find out a lot of really good information about the claims organization. It's really too bad because this is so vital to learn from and it would add to the puzzle.

Yes, AIG is desperate to get rid of headcount. It was a terrible quarter for them.

I think next round for claims is in September. There will be some but they are looking at claim count and per adjuster right now and adjuster to manager ratio. Some areas will see a lot more reduction than other areas of the country.
