The VP's in our org grew from 40 something to 50 something. Go figure
I had 21 DR's and 11 matrix from India. I'm gone, and they are consolidating 42 under my peer. The others a new hire supervisor in India
With the loss of VPs' and AVPS, etc its the cascade effect, all the people under them that get cut too, and that's the big downhill snowball.
@elw,
There will be reductions at all levels folks.
Yes, but the real truth is that a handful of VP's leaving won't save the company all that much money. Most of the force reduction volume will fall on the rest of us to generate the savings they are looking for.
Also, some of those VP's are being retained thru the end of the year, because "they have essential projects they are leading" while the rest of us get 2 weeks and out. I call BS on that. This is leadership protecting their own members of the club.
My AD/Director/Avp have been eerily quiet. Usually my ad talks about things. I'm sure there is going to be some impact my dir has few ads with less than 5 people, one ad has just contractors and off shore folks. Not saying I'm safe as an induvidual contributor but if they want to cut ad's in our org are primed and ready
Go to HROneStop and click on Executive Announcements. There have been many VP departures announced, with actual departures between immediate and through year end. Overall VP departures will materially exceed VP promos this time around. There will be reductions at all levels folks.
When you still believe and practice six sigma because you have an incompetent managerial staff.
All of these layoffs will not move the needle. The inefficiencies will remain because those left are still incompetent! The overhead departments will still be top heavy and dependent on contractors to do their job! There will be more paper pushing and less execution!!
Always a shell game as stated, few if any upper management positions eliminated. It was just a reshuffling to different orgs as usual. The non family, non sycophant employees are the ones that will bear the brunt of this transformative experience. The peanut butter is spread very lightly on the upper crust
I am not so sure about this....There are many Directors with no direct reports and I guarantee most will still be around after Friday......Just like the leveling of VP's as they seem to have grown in numbers in several orgs when we heard there would be downsizings at this level.
DR = Disaster Recovery . make sure you have a backup plan
DR => Direct Reports
DR?
What about directors in retail with 3-5
