Thread regarding Southwestern Energy Co. layoffs

Update update! Layoffs

Here’s the deal folks. It will hit you like a ton of bricks, but here it is. If you have not yet been invited back to the office to recommence work, you have unfortunately been laid off. That’s it. Please return company owned equipment to 10000 Energy Drive (at your expense). Final paychecks will be mailed once it’s returned. Thank you.

20% of CHK's NE asset value would have maxed out SWN's AMEX account.

While this post has nothing to do with the topic, I heard from a colleague at CHK that SWN indeed tried to buy its Appalachian asset. The problem was they offered something like 20% of its value. So if I got this right, Cecil earned something like $4 million a year to put in low ball offers on assets that had zero chance of ever getting accepted, and oversaw a department full of business neophytes that also thought the business development approach was to offer enough low balls so some fool would say yes? With thinking like this, it's no wonder that Commercial Development has been a joke for years. That's what you get when you hire bankers who have never run a business to do deals. Something like 90% of business deals do not generate the returns they expected, but companies continue to hire ex investment bankers to run business development. Seems like it's Einstein's definition of insanity playing out in oil & gas companies.

Is this an OSHA recordable? Was reading this thread in church this morning. Yes I take my family Wife and 4 kids to church every week.

I started to laugh and our pastor stopped preaching and my wife elbowed me in my rib cage. Think it might be broken. She is a large woman me not so much. So is this something. I can get worked comp?

Saw JB yesterday. Hard to believe that this guy is a leader when he can’t add it up that our company is a soon to be penny stock. Hard to believe also but I think DJT “acing ” his recent cognitive test is still more than JB is cable of. Let’s hope that a merger or buy out is in our future. #SWNsos

Additional layoffs next week. Some were postponed in NE due to projects coming to a close. Betting those packets will be used next week 4 sure! I was laid off this week and live in PA and was expecting it due to local management and not in their good ol boy club.

I hope everyone takes this seriously, but I accidentally stumbled upon packets of printed out material. Hundreds of them. Employee Assistance Program info, and instructions for saving your phone info to iCloud. This can’t be good. I think layoffs are imminent. Everyone else is laying off, so why aren’t we?

Here’s what went thru my mind. How did this once great company get run into the ground by an incompetent CEO who could not manage a piggy bank. He is a $3 dollar price stock price guru!
