TYSONS, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–DXC Technology (NYSE: DXC) announced today that certain systems of its subsidiary, Xchanging, have experienced a ransomware attack. Xchanging is primarily an insurance managed services business that operates on a standalone basis. The company is confident that this incident is isolated to the Xchanging environment. In addition, DXC does not have any indication at this time that data has been compromised or lost.

The company has implemented a series of containment and remediation measures to resolve this situation. DXC is actively working with affected customers to restore access to their operating environment as quickly as possible. DXC is also engaging with law enforcement and appropriate cyber agencies.

DXC will continue to update its customers, shareholders, and people on its progress in resolving this situation.

Some right old armchair generals in this thread.

Understand the difference between where dxc is paid for securing a client and where they aren't paid. Guess what, if they ain't paying its not getting secured. Their security is not a dxc problem.

DXC internal security is a different matter and i suspect that like everything else in the lawrie years it was underfunded and badly led by some sort of yes man. Certainly the previous CIO was one of the mikey gang, a brutal dictator.

QNv8, that should be DXC's corporate motto "A mess for less".

Why Lloyd's of London or any London market managing agent would trust their operations to Xchanging, regardless of any security breach, is beyond me as all they have to offer is old technology and bulk standard "your mess for (supposedly) less" BPO services - nothing of any interest here!

So DXC has not learnt its lessons from 2017 when it's clients were hit with Wannacry worldwide. Then months after that attack their clients were hit by NotPetya. The combined attacks cost their clients involved around $1 to put their technology/businesses back on track. Didnt cost DXC this as they could point the finger at the clients lack of security controls. https://blogs.dxc.technology/2017/06/08/a-month-after-wannacry-how-do-we-stop-the-next-threat/ . Steve Hilton went shortly after this. So did Chris Moyer. Neither were responsible but both highlighted the need to change and to improve client security. The cuts continued. Lawrie and co got rid of any decent security professionals they had. They brought in a salesman to head up security. Focus on growth and not real security. Maybe instead of focusing on gamifying https://thrive.dxc.technology/eur/2019/08/27/staying-safe-while-having-fun-gamifying-cybersecurity/ - DXC should have focused more on protecting their clients business.

Nothings change with DXC and security - was same under Laurie and CSC reign, "loser" it is and "looser" man should keep quiet and shine Sal's shoes for him.

What the hell is a “looser”? Is it opposite of a “tighter”? Please help me understand since you are so smart.
