Severance package make sure you run it by a employment lawyer before you sign.

There is no "45th signing day".... Once you get your severance packet (their goal was about two weeks after your term date, if you count the days from June 30, do you see 15 days yet? No). YOU have 45 days to return the signed General Release. That's the ONLY place there's ANY reference to 45 days. There's no 45 day wait to get your packet, they don't hold your money for 45 days after you return your signed form. There's either a 7 or 14 day revocation period (based on your state) which is to benefit YOU if you change your mind about accepting the severance. Once that period is over, you can't revoke any longer, and your severance will be processed within a few weeks.
The people laid off in February had their severance whacked up because of the COVID closures. Yes, it seemed like it took forever for them to get their money. One of my coworkers just got theirs in late May. That wasn't intentional, it was just a very bad coincidence.
I read that packages will not Be mailed until the 45th signing date passes. I hope you are correct in that they mail them upon receiving your signature. Seems somewhat cold to me to make us wait 2 months after we’re let go.
Has anyone actually got the paperwork? Mine still has not been emailed to me.
I have been through a number of these. They are not working to hurt you, even though you are being let go. There is not hidden code word that you sign away your daughter, house, and dog. Just sign it. It makes no sense not to sign it. Been there. Did it. Done it.
Just take the package and move on. Why give it away like that?
Just sign it
The longer you wait
The longer they have your $$$
Been there
🙏🏻
Really, a lawyer? We've been fired we're not asking for the secret bat-codes. Just read it yourself, take the money and move on.
Sure pay over $200 to have a lawyer check on a package worth a few weeks pay.
