Thread regarding National Oilwell Varco Inc. layoffs

Anyone Here??

Been quiet lately. Maybe were at the end of the head count reductions?

Big round coming up company wide. No way NOV can keep the current staff with the numbers they’re running now.

One has to believe that cuts will become more frequent this month. Backlogs are dismal with no real projects projected for this year. If NOV does survive this, it will be a completely different company then it was before. Sad to see what has become of this once great company.

Just got laid off today as well. It's crazy how cliquish management is. Plenty of "rules for thee but not for me" instances. Betcha that useless radio show NOVLive is still getting funded though.

It’s crazy, like a if anyone even respectfully disagrees with a controversial concept, their role is first diminished, marginalized and then swept out the door!

Little baby “yes-man-agers” who do “whatever it takes to appease their VP, ignore decades of experience.

If seen it in engineering, maintenance, facility management, you name it.

All they have is top brass and wanna be top brass

They got rid of most people who had different thoughts and comments last year so not much chance and anyone challenging things now!

We're here. Silently waiting for Management to review the losses for Q2 and then decide how many non-management positions need to be cut allowing them to say they're "reacting to the market".

With all of these cuts there haven't been any org announcements with any new names on them. Just a re-shuffling of all the people that know better than to raise issues with the way business is being done today. Remember: loyalty > intelligent decision making. If you see something, say nothing. Otherwise you might be perceived to be someone that is trying to change the status quo.

good luck everyone.

Unbelievable, sounds like an idea from one of the VP’s or presidents, they really are running this business into the ground. Should make it easier to sell when they are forced to have a ‘fire sale’

This company is nuts, if you read one of the threads regarding the Greengate or Mono Pumps facility they are looking to share 25% of the facility with another company, how desperate is that and surely the idea of one of these incompetents!

I guess the post regarding the president and VP’s was removed as it upset them, the truth hurts and they need to take a good long look in the mirror!

Quiet before the storm. Many more layoffs to come. This relic is headed towards bankruptcy not recovery.

I hope the next round of layoffs include a series of Incompetent VPs and directors, I mean does anyone do a direct to indirect employee ratio evaluation anymore. Also what happened to that post about Caps VPs yesterday or day before, it was just getting going and so accurate

Many hard working, productive, loyal employees have been cut. Mostly good ‘ol boy management remains. The next earnings report will be horrendous. Layoffs will resume.

Wait until Q2 numbers are released. Then they’ll start back up
