Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Is it true?

Is it true that 60% of the corporate office was laid off last week?

I am not one of the remaining but I heard the number from someone that is still employed at corporate. My severance is a joke- Belk is absolutely a sinking ship. I hope it will last long enough to find my next job. I was familiar with many compensation rates at corporate and I know for a fact that the associates they kept were the ones being compensated less.

All meetings tried to paint numbers as sunshine and rainbows but this is absolutely not the case. Not sure how Belk will sink but I feel like it’s inevitable.

How do you think Sycamore would “slice this company up?”

Sounds like bankruptcy or Sycamore is slicing this company up and dumping it soon. Any hanger-ons may wanna stick around and see if there is some severance but it won’t be much of any.
My advice- GTFO of retail.

750 is the final number out of the approx 2000 people that were employed at corporate.
