I heard there might be more layoffs this week at stores, is it true?

Surprisingly, our truck this week was the largest we've had since reopening. This being July which is usually a slow month for us historically. So that was a surprise and if we don't shut down again, hope things pick up more.
Too much went to penny this week. It's awful. Store so bare and empty.
Before COVID it looked like a junkyard sale was in progress. The department manager was always concerned. After COVID worst fears came through. The miserable, unhappy VPSM must be an even more overbearing soul to be around. Good look folks.

Ohhh if I could post photos of our store! 😬. Entire walls are bare, fixtures with 3 garments on it, bunkers are empty! I agree with the above post... silent liquidation!!!
My guess is we're good for now but I'm operating under the assumption that I'm done after this year. My store is a bare bones staff with almost the entire inventory going last act and penny with little coming in. If that's not silent liquidation, I don't know what is.
Oh yes. We know what a pillar of honesty, compassion and leadership JG has been. I wouldn't believe him if he said the sky was blue.
There is another cut coming in 3 months. Then guess what ? After Xmas it’s your wonderful annual cuts. Like every year at Macy’s. So guess what ? Find another job !!! Macy’s wants to be kohl’s. But at its best it’s pulling of Salvation Army
agree with previous poster. Go in, do your best, but get that resume polished up and be proactive. You can’t live everyday thinking you will be laid off. It’s bad for your mental and physical health. Start looking for a new job now while you are still employed. Good luck to all who remain.

Not according to JG. The layoffs completed 6/30 address the current needs of the company to remain solvent at the level of business being conducted at this time. There are no more planned at this time. The retail landscape could change in the next 3 mos, up or down, mandating changes in staffing.
