Appreciate the commentor who apologized. We are agreed that there is so much negativity out there these days. Unfortunately, the Belk layoffs are real and so sad for so many. Hopefully, the good people who have been displaced will find new roles quickly. Trying times for sure.
Yeah, I made the earlier comment and I stand corrected. Wow! I guess I just wanted to believe that Belk could weather this storm. And to be honest, I do get tired of reading all the negativity. But it appears that it is warranted. So I sincerely apologize to the poster that I questioned earlier.
To the person who asked where this info came from, it's all over LinkedIn and Facebook, Instagram and Twitter Tons of people were let go today and they're posting their resumes to social media in hopes of finding work fast. So many good people are out on the street and feeling very anxious and scared.
They are going down. Layoffs happening currently to furloughed employees.

Just out of curiosity, where are you getting this information? You could say this about almost every retailer right now. Thank you for creating another negative thread in a world consumed right now by fear, hate, and uncertainty. The rest of us will keep doing our job and try to make things better for the company and survive these troubling times.
I'm a manager and have never seen anything like this, we are all looking to get out, some want to see if they will get a severance package, but some are willing to get out now. This is about as bad as it gets in retail.
