Does anyone actually know what the assessment was? How it was done? What it was based on other than favoritism

Not sure how they based their layoffs. Worked 21 years only made 11 dollars and hr. I worked flex schedule. My boss WAS on of my best friends. I said Was...they said I could reapply in 3 months. I would second think that.. maybe if they cut more from the top and stop fixing up stores they could have a better and more equipped salesforce on the floor. One to two employees on the selling floor is ridiculous. Maybe cut some of those fireworks love um but we lost our jobs not in the mood to celebrate.. all those who are left “ watch your back”
My store manger could not articulate how the retention process was handled. He scapegoated it being that the decisions were made at a higher level!?! Trust me, I’ve had nothing other than stellar annual appraisals- this is 1000% favoritism. It’s all about how Great of a Ringmaster of the Sh– Show you pulled off during visits. SO Sad! I’m counting my blessings and looking for the season with company that is actually transparent and offers a True Work/life balance. Macy’s claims this yet Demands you work open to close shift 3 consecutive days before a visit and you’re made to feel quilts for taking your earned holidays. What a total deception!
I’m not surprised I lost my job. I have been on medical leave this past year. My doctor cleared me to go back June 12th but I never went back. I’m sure that was part of the reason why I was laid off. It s—s but hopefully I can find something better.
FAVORITISM, PERIOD!!!
i hear it was if you made more than 13 a hour you got cut as a associates cause my numbers was bigger than my entire dept in fact everyone could quite and the dept numbers would be threw the roof.
Yes, it was based on reviews from past years, which gave each of us a rating, if your department needed to lay-off whoever had lowest rating was let go, also if 2 or more associates had same rating Store Manager and MTM had in put of which one to keep.
