We are told to check out temperatures at home. What a joke. No one checks their temperature. A colleague said her husband sticks his finger in her ears and tells its under 100.4 that she's good to go to work. No one checks their temperature at home, but always answers yes to their temperature being under 100.4.

If Macy's keeps avoiding this deadly outbreak, this virus is going to be stronger in the fall and winter. Colleagues will be sick either with the flu or COVID-19. Right now we are still in the first wave of coronavirus, imagine what's going to happen this fall season. The holidays is not going to be the same.
Colleagues are definitely not checking their temps. Macy’s policy on wellness checks is lacking when compared to other retailers. Additionally, checking for masks is inconsistent. It’s clear that the organization is more concerned with making money, rather than protecting the well being of their customers and colleagues.
Wow that’s crazy. I used to work for Macy’s & left for another retailer. We temp check every associate before they clock in. The system actually asks them if they had their wellness check before they are able to clock in. I feel bad for you guys. Trust me their is life after Macy’s!!
As far as I know, when I go in at opening, temp is being checked. If no one is checking, the thermometer scanner is there and employees do it themselves. There have been times when the person in charge goes around to make sure you took your temp, even if already done.
The policy is to ask the employee if they took their temp and was it below the threshold.
If they say no, they didn't check, then we check with the touchless forehead scanner.
It is not policy at the STORES to check everyone. You cannot make policy individually to check everyone even if you think you have associates lying to you.
It's up to the company to make this change to policy if they believe it's being abused.
Do the warehouses or call centers have a different policy about temperature checks?

I believe this is true at my store too. I’ve heard several colleagues say they don’t even have a thermometer
